Janet Knight Thompson Obituary (1957 - 2014)

Janet Knight Thompson (Gillit), 57, passed away peacefully at her home in South Jordan, UT on Wednesday, December 10, 2014. Janet was born on May 29, 1957 in Salt Lake City, UT to Austin Carlile and Margaret Lucille Knight. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Janet loved the gospel and served in many callings in her wards. Janet was a chosen spirit sent here by our Heavenly Father. She could always be found in the service of others with a smile on her face. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren. They were the center of her life. She will be dearly missed. Her favorite hobby was cross stitching. She worked for Discover Card for 20+ years. In 2009, she rekindled her relationship with her high school sweetheart. They were married on July 12, 2014. She is survived by her husband Bruce Gillit, daughter Shawna Kelly (Jason), son Bryan Thompson (Emily), daughter Becky (Isaac) Amoah Boadi, son Rick (Pollyanna) Thompson, daughter Julie (Curt) Cordery, daughter Jennifer (Travis) Jenkins, and grandchildren Makennah Kelly, Zentara Axness, Nicholas Thompson, Aria Thompson, McCall Jenkins, and Zayna Amoah Boadi. She was preceded in death by her parents, Austin Carlile & Margaret Lucille. Funeral services will be held on Saturday December 20, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Oquirrh Lake LDS Ward Building, 3760 W. Rushton View Dr. South Jordan, UT 84095. There will be a viewing on Friday December 19, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the ward building.
