Janet Ann Betty Yamashita Obituary (1949 - 2015)

Janet Ann Yamashita, age 66, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, passed away unexpectedly on July 11, 2015. She was born May 28, 1949 in Minneola, New York to George and Lois Betty. She married Robert Czerwinski, Jr. and had 2 children, Doug and Jill, they later divorced. In 1989, she married her best friend, David Yamashita. Dave and Janet had almost 27 years of happiness and joy together. With their marriage, Janet gained two more children, Jennifer and Cory. Janet's greatest joy in life was her family. She was the master planner and always welcomed friends and family with open arms. Janet always acknowledged all events whether they were great or small. You could always count on a card in your mailbox to celebrate life's milestones. She always had a warm smile and listening ear for anyone in need. Janet was feisty and could take control of any situation. If something needed to be done, Janet was first in line to help. Hard work and dedication were an integral part of her personality. She taught her children to embody these traits not just by her words but by her example. Janet's influence has been felt by many as evidenced by the outpouring of love and support from friends, family and coworkers. The world is a bit darker without Janet's amazing light. She will be missed by many. She was preceded in death by her parents George and Lois. Janet is survived by her husband David; children Doug (April) Czerwinski, Jill (Wesley) Michaelson, Jennifer (Matt) Berrett, Cory (Kaylee) Yamashita; grandchildren Andrew, Samantha, and Calin; brother George "Cap" Betty. A gathering for friends and family will be held on Saturday July 18th at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary South Jordan from 12 PM-1 PM with a Memorial service to be held from 1 PM-2 PM.
