Joan W. (Seequist) Westerman Obituary (1934 - 2010)

Our loving Mom, Grandma, and Mimi returned home to Heavenly Father on Friday Nov. 26, 2010 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Born November 30, 1934 to William Hugh Wilson and Rose Mossot Wilson in Salt Lake City, Utah. Married James W. Seequist in 1950, divorced in 1974 and married Jonathan Newel Westerman Jr. Joan was a loving mother, grandmother and Mimi. She also worked with the Morgan Horse Club and had the Grand Champion stud for years. Joan rode in the Silver Spurs, ran and owned Carmel Dairy in Wood Cross. She drove 18 wheelers with her husband Jonathan “Jackie” Westerman, loved doing crafts of all kinds, and had a candy popcorn shop in Murray. Joan loved being with her family and going to Wendover. Survived by her daughter Barbara (Ron) Burkinshaw, sister Helen Walkingshaw, grandchildren, Jeramy (Shanna) Burkinshaw, Jen Burkinshaw (JR Darling), great-grand children, Chandler, Brayden, Daxton and Cohen. Preceded in death by her parents, brother Mark Wilson, daughter Karon Seequist, son Micheal Seequist and her husband Jonathan Newel Westerman. It will be a great reunion. Funeral services will be held Wednesday Dec. 1, 2010 at 11:00 at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley, 1007 W. South Jordan Pkwy. (10600 So.) where a viewing will be held from 10:00 – 10:45 a.m. prior to funeral services. Interment at Mountain View Cemetery 3115 E. 7800 S. Cottonwood Hts. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to help cover funeral expenses.
