Jolene Catmull Obituary (1934 - 2013)

Jolene Catmull, our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend died peacefully in her sleep on December 19, 2013 at her home in Copperton, Utah. She was born in Rexburg, Idaho on March 21, 1934 to Joseph Fielding Catmull, Ph.D. and Verus Farnsworth Catmull. Jolene married Franklin Lyman Stout in 1953. They divorced about 20 years later. As a full time mother and housewife, she went to college and earned Bachelor's and Master's degrees from The University of Utah in Psychology and Sociology. She was a selfless person who gave herself fully to others, whether it was family members, friends or in her profession as a school psychologist. Countless lives have been forever touched and changed for the better thanks to Jolene. She is survived by her three sons; Ronald Stout of Copperton, UT, Jeffrey Stout of Cottonwood Heights, UT and Michael Stout (Becky) of Sandy, UT, as well as seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Ken Catmull of Houston, TX and sisters, Sylvia Nichols of Dallas, TX, Jeanne Anne Kempe of Ogden, UT and Ellen Connole of Denver, CO. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 27, 2013 at Jenkins-Soffe Funeral Home, 1007 W South Jordan Parkway, South Jordan, Utah 84095. Services will begin at 1:00 PM. Friends and family may gather together at the same location beginning at noon. We are all grateful to have been so profoundly touched by Jolene, and we are so very grateful for the outpouring of love, sympathy and kindness.
