Joy Ann Showell Williamson Pranter Obituary (1939 - 2007)

On a beautiful spring Easter morning, April 8, 2007, our mother left quietly from this earth to reunite in Heaven with her mother, father and brother Lyndon. Born August 1, 1939 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Francis Bud and Ora Showell. Raised in Salt Lake City and graduated from Olympus High School in 1957. She Married LaMar A. (Skip) Williamson and together they raised 6 wonderful children. She was very involved in the daily activities of each of her children. Later she married Larry Pranter and lived 16 years in West Jordan with him. She was a faithful and devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and radiated the Savior’s love to all. On the day we celebrate the resurrection of our Savior, we are reminded of our mother’s love of the new life spring brings. While tulips are blooming this time of year, Mom’s hands are touching a never ending garden that will bloom for eternity. We are comforted in knowing we were a special part of such a well-lived life. She leaves behind her children to eventually join her in the ever-after: Cary (Tawny) Williamson, Tammy (Lee) Cassity, Sherry (Steve) Harris, Troy (Alayna) Williamson, Becky (Jim) Babcock and Randy (Nichole) Williamson, 21 Grandchildren and 1 ½ Great Grandchildren, whom she adored. Just prior to her death she spoke of meeting her (soon to be born) Great Granddaughter. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, April 17, 2007, 11:00 am at the Sunset Ridge 2nd Ward, 8137 So. Echo Drive (6250 W.). Friends and family may call Monday, April 16, 2007 at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley, 1007 W. South Jordan Parkway (10600 So.) from 6-8 pm and Tuesday from 9:30-10:30 am prior to the service at the church. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Missionary Fund.
