Joyce Chiyeko Moulton (Morita) Obituary (1946 - 2015)

On July 27, 2015, we lost our best friend, wife and mother after a nine-month battle with cancer. Joyce was a fighter with incredible spirit and toughness. Throughout her ordeal she continued to believe she could win and refused to give up. In life Joyce was the ultimate giver. She always thought of others and made sure she did what she could to take care of them. As a wife she gave unconditional support and love to husband Larry for 50 years and as a mother she did the same for son Bonnier. Words cannot be writ on paper that describe how much we love her and how much we will miss her. Joyce had a soft spot for animals and especially dogs, she donated regularly to nearly every animal welfare related organization that there is. She will be joined in rest by beloved furry friends Boo Woo, Yappy, Dinky and Teddy. Joyce was born on May 14, 1946 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She attended East High School and The University of Utah. In her youth, she was an accomplished violinist. On March 13, 1965 she married Larry Moulton and embarked on a fifty-year journey as a racer's wife, traveling across the country to race tracks in New York and California and many points between. On October 27, 1965 she gave birth to son Bonnier and embarked on a second and simultaneous fifty-year journey as a hockey mom, confidant and best friend. One could not ask for a better mom, better wife or better friend. She was preceded by her father, Minori Morita; mother, Michiko Mary Morita; brother, Marvin Morita; and the beloved pets already mentioned. She leaves behind her loving husband, Larry Moulton; son, Bonnier Moulton; brother, Alvin Morita; and furries, Willie and Vito. We would like to thank all of our friends who have been so supportive over the last nine months. Your words and actions of encouragement and support are much appreciated. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 1, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State Street, Murray, Utah with a viewing on Friday, July 31st from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday from 10-10:45 a.m. Interment: Mtn. View Memorial Estates Cemetery.
