Joyce Marie Strom Steele Obituary (1943 - 2009)

“BA” Joyce Marie Strom Steele, age 65, passed away peacefully on January 21, 2009, surrounded by the love of her family. Our beloved Joyce was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She was born in Richmond, California on December 14, 1943, the first born to parents Glenda Andrews and Wallace Walfred Strom, both of whom preceded her in death. She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, William Steele and her two children, William Thomas Steele and Dawn Marie Simpson; her grandson Jesse Steele; her granddaughter and now angel Aspen Simpson who preceded her in death; her siblings RaNae Coombs, Rick Strom, Craig Strom and Kathy Davis; her siblings Carol Harrison and Jerry Strom preceded her in death; many other family members including sister and brother-in-laws, nieces and nephews, friends, as well as her cherished dogs Stretch and Ginger. Joyce attended Bingham High School. Joyce retired from the University of Utah and she was a huge “Utes” fan. She especially enjoyed her court shows and American Idol. She was a loving wife and mother who worked very hard to provide and care for her family. She was dearly loved and will be deeply missed. She will be forever in our hearts, thoughts and prayers. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 27, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State Street, Murray, Utah, with a viewing one hour prior to services. Interment Murray City Cemetery.
