June Roberts Hubbard Obituary (1918 - 2008)

Ruby June Roberts Hubbard died 24 Feb 2008 at her home in South Salt Lake of natural causes. Born 29 June 1918 in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Richard Sampson Roberts and Rachel Bullock. June married Edsel (Ted) Jay Whicker 10 Sep 1940, with whom she had three sons. Ted died in a car accident 11 May 1951. In 1957 she married Otis (Red) Warren Pierce, who died in 1971. She married Ralph Hubbard in 1972, who died in 1998. June worked for the Carpenters Union for about 40 years before retiring. When able, she enjoyed gardening, bowling, square dancing and family gatherings. In recent years, she has enjoyed bus trips to Wendover and attending local theatre events. She is survived by sons, Darrell Jay Whicker (Sharron) Salt Lake City, Edward Blair Whicker (Connie) Roosevelt, Utah; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister; three brothers; three husbands; a son, Barry Reed Whicker; and a grandson, Cory Jay Whicker. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 1, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State Street, where a viewing will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Friday evening and from 10:00-10:45 a.m. Saturday before services. Burial will be in the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
