Keith L Olson Obituary (1935 - 2020)

Keith L. Olson, a kind-hearted peacemaker, passed away peacefully surrounded by family. Keith was born in Vernal, Utah to Loyal and Irene Olson. Keith is survived by his wife Jean W. Olson who he loved with all his heart for more than sixty years; his daughter Kelly (Chris) Nielsen; Steve (Allison) Olson; his seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Keith was preceded in death by his son, Gary Olson, and great- granddaughter, Adalyn Nielsen. Keith’s greatest joy was spending time with his family, and he was happiest at Capistrano Beach with a book in one hand and a Diet Coke in the other watching his family playing in the water and building sandcastles. Keith served in the Mexico Mission. His career later took him and his family back to Mexico City and San Juan, Puerto Rico for many years. Keith retired from DANA Corporation and was especially proud of the eighteen years he spent as a security officer at the Utah State Legislature and the fourteen years he and Jean spent serving a church service mission at Intermountain Medical Center. Keith will be remembered as a quiet and gentle soul who possessed a great sense of humor and placed family above all else. We love and miss you dad, cancer sucks, and diabetes is no picnic! We express our sincere gratitude to the doctors and nurses at IMC and the compassionate caregivers at Inspiration Hospice. A private graveside service will be held Thursday, November 12th at the Murray City Cemetery.
