Kelly Roger Hale Obituary (1961 - 2016)

July 16, 1961 – December 15, 2016 Kelly Roger Hale, age 55, passed away December 15, 2016 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was born July 16, 1961 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Roen A. Hale and Elaine R. Hale. He was a lifelong member of the LDS Church and served a mission in Anaheim, CA. Kelly always talked about growing up in the 9th ward and the many friends and good times he had there. He especially loved participating in the Roadshows and ward outings. He graduated from Olympus High School in 1979, where he was a cheerleader his senior year. Kelly worked at Murray Park as a life guard, Bryce Canyon, Fred Meyers in display and Colonial Flag. Kelly had a special way with people. If he didn't know you, you could be certain he knew one of your friends. He always found a connection with people and instantly made personal friendships. You couldn't be around him for a minute without him cracking jokes; Kelly could make anybody laugh until they cried. He met and influenced many people through his involvement with local and state beauty pageants. He loved being a coach, mentor, and supporter of the many young women with whom he was involved with through pageants. At a young age, Kelly was diagnosed with diabetes, and as a result he suffered many health related issues throughout his life. But, through it all, he never complained. He was always optimistic; and, despite his many setbacks, he was always kept his sense of humor. He never let his health issues hold him back. He received a lifesaving kidney transplant donated by Stan Stensrud. Thanks, Stan, for giving him a part of yourself and extending his time here with us. He said he hopes people won't say he's in a better place now, because he loved his life and he loved the many people in it. He is survived by his father, Roen A. Hale (Judy); mother, Elaine R. Hale; brothers: Curtis R. Hale (Joy), Jed W. Hale (John), Brent L. Hale, Robert R. Hale (Robbin), and Tim R. Hale (Amy); step-sisters, Kenna and Dannielle (Dan); and many nieces and nephews which he adored. He also leaves behind Chance, his beloved basset hound and constant companion.
