Doyle passed away unexpectedly on December 26, 2018 at the age of 83. He was born to Millicent Farnes and Kenneth Wayne Shaw in Hyrum, Utah on January 19, 1935. He graduated from South Cache High School in 1953, and completed a plumbing apprenticeship at Weber State College. Doyle married his sweetheart, Mary Ann Peterson in the Logan temple November 5, 1954, and they made their first home in Roy, Utah. Later he and Mary moved to Rose Park, then West Valley City, and finally South Jordan. He is survived by his wife, Mary, his sons: Richard (Shauna), Steven (Cori), Alan (Amy), and Greg (Katie), his daughter Deanne “Dee” Sundell, 16 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, sister Barbara Clay, and brother Boyd (Marilyn). He was preceded in death by his parents, son-in-law Carl Sundell, and brother-in-law Charles Clay.
Doyle was an amazing man. He worked for AT&T and L-3 as a telephone installation tech, but his real love was plumbing. He was a master craftsman and loved to help people with plumbing problems. His motto was, “Do it right the first time, and you don’t have to do it again.” Doyle loved the outdoors, and especially loved fishing, snowmobiling, spending time in Island Park, Idaho, and St. George, Utah.
Doyle was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and held many positions in the church including Stake Librarian, Sunday School president, counselor in an Elder’s Quorum presidency, executive secretary, a counselor in a bishopric and a devoted home teacher. He was immensely proud of his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
