Laurie Lee Eulberg Obituary (1953 - 2011)

Laurie Lee Eulberg, our beautiful Daughter, Sister and Aunt, died February 19, 2011 due to complications following a routine surgical procedure. Born June 29, 1953 the second of six children to Roger and Doris Eulberg, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Laurie (age 57) is survived by her parents, Salt Lake City, UT and her five siblings: Jane Stout (Reed), Cerritos, CA; David (Cindy), Kaysville, UT; Joanne, San Clemente, CA; John (Lisa), West Jordan, UT; Jeff, Denver, CO. She was a beloved family member who was actively involved, and impacted the lives of her thirteen nieces and nephews and eight great nieces and nephews. Laurie was generous with her time and resources, never leaving anyone to question how incredibly important they were to her. She held a BA in business from Brigham Young University. After years of dedication to building her career she held a prestigious position as Senior Vice President in private banking at Zions Bank. She was loved by colleagues and enjoyed a beautiful office with a view of Temple Square that she cherished. Over the past several years Laurie loved organizing the well attended annual Zions Art Show and holiday party. She became a bit of an art collector in the process, adding several stunning desert landscape oils to her own collection. Laurie was full of energy and enjoyed being very active. Her favorite activities through her life were being by the ocean, shopping and golfing. In recent years, she filled her Saturday mornings attending sporting events of her nephews. Laurie also enjoyed making the most of her vacation time going to the Southern California beaches, visiting her sisters and each August enjoying the annual family gathering in Oceanside, cruises to the Caribbean and Alaska, visiting her sister’s cabin in Montana, and various parts of Southern Utah with her brothers. Laurie loved quiet moments with a good book, devouring high quantities of contemporary literature and spirituality based writings. She also spent time tending a beautiful flower garden that grew rich and full in her care at her pretty Draper home. As Laurie valued time with family so much, she went to great lengths to organize elaborate family parties, from the 60th wedding anniversary she threw for her parents last November to the frequent Sunday dinner get-togethers at her Draper residence with multi-course dinners and thoughtful party favors for all. She always went to extra efforts to make things more fun, vibrant, special and memorable. She had a special gift for always making everyone feel included. Her humor was amusing to all, and she could inspire laughter in others, regularly lifting their spirits. Laurie and her loving and beautiful countenance will always be remembered by those who loved her. Laurie was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Funeral services will be on Friday, February 25, 2011 at 11:00 am at the Eastridge 1st Ward, 552 East 11400 South, Draper, Utah, with viewings on Thursday from 6-8 pm at Jenkins-Soffe Funeral Home, 1007 West South Jordan Parkway, South Jordan and from 9:30-10:30 am on Friday at the church. Interment Salt Lake City Cemetery.
