Louise Jeppson Larsen Obituary (1924 - 2012)

As one life passes, a new life arrives. Louise Jeppson Larsen, 87, passed away peacefully in her daughter’s arms on April 26, 2012, just 12 short hours after her 37th great-grandchild arrived.Louise was born on December 4, 1924 in Willard, UT to Samuel Leland and Mary Thomas Jeppson. The fifth of thirteen children, Louise moved with her family to Hillspring, Alberta, Canada as an infant, during the depression in 1925. The family eventually returned to Brigham City, Utah where Louise graduated from Box Elder High School in 1942.Louise received her nursing degree from LDS School of Nursing in 1946. After graduation, Louise worked at LDS Hospital, Primary Children’s, and as a school nurse for Box Elder County. She later moved to Sacramento, CA where she continued her nursing and there she met Monte H. Larsen. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple on June 16, 1952. They soon added six children to their family and settled in Corning, CA, where they raised quarter horses and lived until their retirement in 1993.Louise worked as a nurse at Corning Memorial Hospital for more than 30 years. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where she served as Relief Society and Primary President among many other callings.In 1993, Monte and Louise retired to Utah where they lived in Salem, South Jordan and most recently Sandy. Louise was the loving and devoted mother of Robin (Pete) Dagorret, Richfield, CA, Mark (Emily) Larsen, Durham, CA, Mary Lee (Michael) Marks, South Jordan, UT, Kathleen (Tim) Compton, Lakeport, CA, Kristine (Greg) Bennett, Orem, UT, Pamela Rae Larsen (deceased). She was the kind and caring grandmother to 24 grandchildren; Grey, Eric, Toni Kay, and Nicholas (Hemping), Luke and Matthew (Larsen), Melissa, Kathleen, Monica, Michelle, Michael, Megan, and Matthew (Marks), August and Kalyn (Dagorret), Amber, Hank, Dane, Mark, Andrew, Olivia, Kaitlyn, Erik, and Owen (Tolman). In addition, 37 great-grandchildren survive Louise with her 38th due in July. Preceding Louise in death was a daughter Pamela Rae (1963), great-granddaughter Anna Denise Tolman (2010), and her eternal companion, Monte Hans Larsen (2011). Her parents and ten siblings also predeceased her. Two brothers Paul and Clarke Jeppson, one brother-in-law Bill Walker, and one sister-in-law Ann Jeppson survive her.Louise set an amazing example of unconditional love throughout her life. This was proven time and again with the love she gave to her husband and children. Louise is remembered as never having said an unkind word to or about another person. Her legacy is a shining example to all those who knew and loved her.WE LOVE YOU, MOM! Services will be held Tuesday May 1, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the South Jordan 5th Ward, 9800 S. 2600 W. South Jordan UT. A viewing will be held prior to the services from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the 5th Ward building. Interment will be at the South Jordan City Cemetery immediately following the service.The family would like to give special thanks and acknowledgment to Pita and Latu Fonua for the tender, loving care they provided for our mother during the last year and a half of her life.
