Lynn D. Clayburn (Leonard) Obituary (1951 - 2015)

Lynn 64, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday October 27, 2015 after a short battle with cancer. Lynn was born June 9, 1951 in Heber City, Utah, the son of John T. Clayburn & Norine Clayburn. He married his high school sweetheart Sandy (Sam) McQuillan on May 23, 1970 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Lynn learned at a very young age how to work hard. He started at a young age collecting iron or metal scraps on job sites to earn money. He then went on to receive his Iron Worker's Apprenticeship and worked for his dad and he eventually became part owner. He was known to lose his temper from time to time. Often resulting in throwing a tool around! He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, Jeeping, and being with family. Jeep safaris in Moab with his family were one of his favorite things to do. He once belonged to a 4 wheel drive club known as the Desert Dogs, where they enjoyed many trips with close friends. He was always smiling and had a way to make people laugh. He had a special and unique way of showing love to everyone. He was always willing to help others, there was never a hesitation. If someone needed help, he was there for them. If you were stuck in the mud or on the side of the road, he was there. Family was one of the most important things to Lynn, he would always tell his family "Without Family there is nothing" and he told his kids growing up "Remember who you are, where you're going & what you're doing." He loved his grandchildren more than anything, they were everything to him. They loved hanging out with Grandpa and loved all the cool tools and gadgets he had. He always made sure that his family knew he loved them. He will be greatly missed but it gives us great comfort that he is reunited with his son Garrett "Bubba" again! Survived by his wife Sandy, Daughters, Lyndie (Chris) Caussey, Chandy (Casey) Colton, Carrie Clayburn, Grandchildren, Jayda (McKay), Hunter, Max, Canyon, Taya, Mason, Oaks, Mollie, & Sister, Connie Blaylock. Proceeded in death by Parents, Brothers, Bob & Tommy, & Son, Garrett. Viewing will be held Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley at 1007 W. South Jordan Pkwy. (10600 S). Funeral Services following at 1:00 pm. Interment will be at the Sandy City Cemetery located at 9000 South 700 E.
