Margaret Charlotte Kehl Davies Smith Obituary (1910 - 2006)

“GG” Margaret K. Smith born April 14, 1910, left her very old and tired body to enter into rest with her Heavenly Father on September 1, 2006. Margaret was born to her German parents Ferdinand F and Alviene G Kehl. She married John Barber Davies on April 25, 1928 and they shared 46 wonderful years of marriage. John passed away on March 29, 1974. Together they were able to realize their dream of becoming parents as they were given the gift of one child Marjean Carol Davies Riet Burke. She passed away January 20, 2000. Margaret was not the same without her and what a joyous day it must be for them to be reunited. Margaret married her second loving husband Melvin H (Fargo) Smith on April 15, 1975. They have shared the past 31 years in love. She loved to travel with him while he was a bus driver. But her favorite trips of all were her many trips to Wendover, She always said she could sit at her favorite machine and the whole world would go away for a while. She is his sweetheart and he will miss her dearly. GG, as her family has lovingly referred to her for years, lived a life of service and love as a homemaker to her husbands, daughter, step-son 4 grandchildren, 1 step-grandson, 7 great grandchildren, and 1 very special great-great granddaughter. GG took pride in her job as a homemaker, her house and yard were always clean and beautiful and she spent countless hours caring for the children she loved so much almost to the day of her passing. GG, your love, lessons, legacy and borrie geek will live on in our hearts. GG is survived by her husband Melvin H (Fargo) Smith, 1 brother Edward F. (Glenda) Kehl, Grandchildren; Tammy (Frank) Neumann, Teri Riet, Traci (Charles) Chidester, Timothy Riet, step-son Garren F. Smith, step-grandson Mark (Amanda) Smith and their 5 sons and 1 daughter, great-grandchildren; Brandy, Nicole, Jamie, Tiffany, T.J. Taylor and Ivy, and her much loved great-great granddaughter and best buddy Aubree. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband John, daughter Marjean, 9 brothers and sisters and daughter in law Sandi. GG taught us to serve and to see beauty in life, every time we see a beautiful rose bloom, a flower bed with all the dirt raked in the same direction or whenever we “BET MAX” we will think of you. We will love you until we meet again. Funeral services will be Wednesday Sept. 6, 2006 at 12:00 noon at Jenkins-Soffe mortuary. 4760 so State Street. Murray. There will be a viewing where family and friends may call Tues Sept 5th from 6-8 pm and one hour prior to the service on Wed. Interment; Salt Lake City Cemetery.
