Margaret Lucile Petty Labrum Obituary (1916 - 2008)

“Our MaMa’ & Maugy” Margaret Lucile Petty Labrum was born June 10, 1916 in Pocatello, Idaho to Robert Thomas and Rosa Beutler Petty. She was called back to her heavenly home on March 19, 2008 in Midvale, Utah. She is survived by sons, Robert Lee (Diana), Michael James (Marilyn); daughter, Beverley; grandchildren, Randy, Michael, Robby, Lindsey, and Anise Labrum; seven great-grandchildren, McKenzie, Justin, Sydney, Kylee, Lauren, Baylee, and Todd Labrum; a sister, Mary Jane Rasmusen; a sister-in-law, Helen Labrum; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Theron Lee Labrum. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She loved children and taught in the Primary and Relief Society. She was a temple worker in the Las Vegas Temple. She taught in Junior High for over 26 years—English and Drama. She also did Social Work in Nampa, Idaho. As our mother, she was our best listener, our best friend. She forged a deep bond of love between her children—“my three angels”, as she referred to us. She brought all the magic and fun into childhood. She prayed with us and for us every night. She loved to dance and play the piano. She was in love with life and people. She never knew a stranger! She showed great compassion for others. “You will always light our way, MaMa’!” Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon, Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at the Meadow Ward, 125 E. Center, Meadow, Utah. A viewing will be held at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State Street, Murray, Utah from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday, March 24th and also on Tuesday at the Meadow Ward from 11:00-12:00 prior to the services. Interment: Meadow Cemetery.
