Margaret MacIntosh Tallach Fisher Obituary (1919 - 2017)

Margaret MacIntosh Tallach Fisher, loving mother, aunt, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away 24 December 2017 from causes incident to age. Margaret was born January 29, 1919 in Alexandria, Dunbartonshire, Scotland to John MacIntosh Tallach and Jane Smith Crawford. Margaret attended Knoxland Primary School and Dumbarton Academy. Her love for Scotland never waned and her desire to return was always close to her heart. Margaret married Robert French Fisher in Liverpool, England and together had six children, Robert, Margaret, Keith (Sandra), Elizabeth (Dee) Alldredge, Myra (Roger) Rhodus and Ian (Evelin). Their family included twenty grandchildren, fifty-one great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Robert (Bob) French Fisher, her son, Robert Joseph John Fisher and daughter, Myra Irene Fisher Rhodus. She is survived by one sibling, Andrew Crawford Tallach in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. A devoted member of the LDS Church, Margaret served for one year in the California Ventura Mission. She served faithfully in many callings in the church along with working in the Salt Lake Temple for seven and a half years. Her desire to know her heritage prompted her to spend many hours on genealogy. She always had a strong testimony of Jesus Christ and it guided her throughout her life. Her crown jewels were her family and she gave them all an appreciation to love unconditionally. No one was ever a stranger to Margaret. She was an excellent listener and would hold your hand as she listened with great interest to whatever was going on in your life. She had an infectious laugh that made you want to laugh along with her – even if you had no idea what she was laughing about. Tireless, Margaret constantly worked in her garden and could not bear, even in her advanced age, to stand idly by and watch others as they worked. She had to be working with you. Her roses were the envy of the neighborhood and she tended to them with great care. Margaret requested to be cremated and returned to be buried with her family in Scotland. A memorial service will be held at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley, 1007 W. South Jordan Parkway (10600 S), South Jordan, Utah on Saturday, 6 January 2018 at 12:00 noon. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service.
