Marian josephine Hulstrom Obituary (1919 - 2015)

Marian Josephine Hulstrom passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 24, 2015, after coming into the world with horse drawn buggies and now knowing that satellites go past Pluto. She passed in her home, shared with her daughter and son-in-law. She is now reunited with the love of her life, Floyd, and the other members of her family that have gone before. She will be deeply missed as she shared and gave so much of herself with so many of us. Marian was born on December 1, 1919, in Schuyler, Nebraska to Joseph Kenneth Bartak and Florence Elvina Van Housen. Marian grew up on a farm. Due to vision issues, she was not able to complete school, beyond the eighth grade. That did not stop her from being knowledgeable through life experiences and reading. She enjoyed fancy work (embroidery, crocheting and sewing). She kept a clean orderly home, and was known to many as being a fabulous cook. She had a quiet sense of humor that only a few came to fully witness and appreciate. Marion and Floyd opened up their homes to what many would consider strays (both human and animal form), who came to be true lasting family. Their home was considered a safe haven to many. She never remarried, after Floyd passed away. Her reason was, "Why settle for less, once you've already had the best?" She had a deep abiding faith, in her Savior, and conversed with him on a very regular basis. She had no doubts about what the life after this one would hold for her, and looked forward to a wonderful family reunion.
