Mary Martha Nemelka Chipman Obituary (1921 - 2013)

Our beloved Mary Martha Nemelka Chipman was called home on October 28, 2013, in South Jordan, Utah. She was born on January 7, 1921, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Carl Alois Nemelka and Helene Elisabeth Lucas. She married the love of her life, James Junior Chipman, on March 28, 1941, in the Salt Lake Temple. He preceded her in death on March 28, 1955. She was a devoted wife and mother of four. She served in many capacities in the LDS Church, including 13 years of service in the Oakland Temple. She was an employee of Sears, Roebuck and Co. in Sacramento, California, until her retirement. She is survived by her two daughters, Jean (Ward) and Analia JoAnn (Wolfenbarger), and her son, Scott Chipman, as well as 21 grandchildren, 75 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and a son, J. Rodger Chipman. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley, 1007 W. South Jordan Parkway (10600 South), South Jordan, Utah. A viewing will be held prior to the funeral at 1:30. Burial will be in Sacramento, California. Online condolences at www.jenkins-soffe.com.
