She was born at home September 28, 1916, Pleasant Grove, Utah to Samuel Drollinger Moore Jr. and Mabel Caroline Monson, and was the eldest of six children, four sisters and one brother.

Shortly before she was born, her parents received a mission call to the Central States Mission. After her birth, she and her mother joined her father, served the mission and returned the day of her second

Maurine attended schools in Pleasant Grove, moved to Fillmore, Utah and graduated from Millard High School. She then went on to University of Utah and Utah State Agricultural College where she graduated in 1938 with a BS in Home Economics, specializing in food, nutrition and textiles. She also received a Secondary Teaching Certificate. She made friends wherever she went as she participated in activities and music. She sang, played piano and organ.

She married her best friend and sweetheart Harold J. Shaw in the Logan Temple June 28, 1938. They lived in Sandy before settling in Murray, Utah where they raised their family.

Mother had a firm faith in the Savior. She served faithfully in many Ward and Stake callings, but she especially loved to work in Primary with the children. For several years she taught reading in the local schools and was active in the DUP. From 1981 to 1988 Maurine and Harold served together as Church Service Missionaries in the Family History Department, and three years with Harold as President and Coordinator of Church Service. After 50 years of marriage, her beloved husband died in 1988. She has been patiently waiting these past 24 years for their reunion.
