May McWilliams Wright Obituary (1923 - 2020)

View Funeral Webcast May McWilliams Wright passed away at home with her loving family by her side on October 31, 2020. She was born to Jasper H McWilliams and Maude Bell Baldwin in Big Piney Wyoming on July 22, 1923. She married Victor Wright of Salt Lake City, Utah. She is preceeded in death by her husband and two sons. Austin (Melissa) DeGraw, Victor "Skip" (Janet) Wright. She leaves behind one son and one daughter. Ira Wright (Tricia) Wright, Carol (Dave) Record. 16 Grandchildren, 22 Great Grandchildren and 13 Great Great Grandchildren. May was a caring CNA for years, working in several nursing homes in Salt Lake City, she was a caregiver to many family members and friends all her life. May was a very loving wife, mother and grandmother, and was loved by all who met her. She made the best homemade bread, cinnamon rolls and fried potatoes’ around. May and Victor managed apartments for several years where they made many friends before they retired. She had a nickname for almost everyone she met. If you were lucky enough to sit next to her in a game of poker or rummy, you would surely lose. Entertaining people and making them laugh was her enjoyment, she would tell stories and sing songs, some a little naughty but you had to love them. If she joked with you or pulled a prank on you, then you knew she was your friend. She enjoyed making her own little crafts which she gave to everyone. Farewell for now until we can hug you again. To our dear Mom and Grandma, "We love you a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck ....Yes I do”. Viewing will be at Jenkins- Soffe Funeral Home, 4760 So State Street, Murray Utah. Friday November 6, 2020 from 6 to 8 pm. Service on Saturday November 7, 2020 at 2:00 pm with a viewing from 1:00 to 1:45 pm prior to service. Special Thanks to our family member Shauntel Prescott and her co-workers at Good Shephard, Barb, Theresa, Maleia, and Kim who was with us at the end for your excellent care and compassion in making her comfortable. Also to Scott and the CNA's, Alley, Hailey and Kerrie from All About Homecare. You were all a great comfort.
