Melony Ruth McCall Praag Obituary (1967 - 2018)

On Tuesday, October 9th, 2018, our beloved wife, mother, and grandmother passed away and was welcomed home by her parents Sam and Carole. Melony met her best friend and love of her life Mike, when she was only 14. After years of dating on and off through high school and a “romantic” proposal at KFC, they were married on November 8, 1986. Three beautiful daughters followed, and they were later sealed as an eternal family in the Salt Lake Temple. They enjoyed 31 years of marriage that were full of love, laughter, and memories. She and Mike worked tirelessly together to make their dreams, and those of their children, come true. Family was her life, especially her grandchildren Kamden, Boston, Emree, Luke, Phoenix, and 3 more on the way, who loved and adored her. All the grandkids fought for the chance to have a one-on-one sleepover at grandma’s house where they would be spoiled with enough treats to sink a ship. She would go anywhere or do anything to spend even a few minutes with them. She would never let them out of her sight without a kiss and a hug, or two or three. Melony loved camping in their new camp trailer and riding 4 wheelers and the RZR with the family. She had a passion for sewing, and the beautiful quilts she made will be greatly treasured. She also loved reading fantasy and adventure novels, dog-earing her daughters’ books (to their dismay). Melony loved to travel, especially anything related to water. Her favorite spot was soaking up sun in the front of a boat or playing board games and cards with her family. She never hesitated to get out with the grandkids and get dirty or splash in the water. One of her most outstanding virtues was service. She saw a need and treasured every opportunity to help all her family and friends. She helped plan countless events, weddings, family parties, birthdays, funerals, and so much more. She could never stop serving until everyone else was cared for and comfortable. No small detail ever seemed to escape her eye. Melony never expected a thing in return and considered it a pleasure to help everyone she loved. Melony will always be remembered as selfless, compassionate, and kind, putting others before herself. Melony is survived by her husband Mike, their daughters Brittany (Brady), Jessica (Jason), and Shayla (Jacob), along with all their grandchildren.
