Michael C. Burkey Obituary (1965 - 2021)

Our beloved son, husband, father, grandpa, uncle and brother passed away April 10th, 2021 at the age of 55. He was born in Cheyenne, Wyoming to Larry Burkey and Barbara Ross. He moved to Salt Lake City, Utah where he met and married the love of his life, Kellie Evens in 1988. He welcomed his son C-Man into this world in 1998 and 3 years later his Peachypie rounded out the family with all the furry kids as well. His family was his pride and joy, teaching his love of sports and outdoors including many soccer games, cycling, flying kites and enjoying family vacations. His addiction to motorcycles started at a young age and continued from solo riding into a board member of the Concours Owners Group, to racing for Trackstar at Utah Motorsports Campus. His passion for photography resurfaced after a serious racing accident. He could no longer race but could capture the thrill of it like no other. He also loved capturing amazing nature scenes. He always had a musical ear from RUSH to Willy Porter, where he spent hours playing on his drums. He is now reunited with his sister Julie, his grandfather Lester and mother-in-law Ginger. He is survived by his wife Kellie, daughter Kayla, son Christian (Delasia), grandson Parker, and guardian pup Lily. He is also survived by his grandmother Linda, father Larry, stepmom Adair, mother Barbara, sister Gina (John), sister Juli (Bryan), brother Brad (Michelle), brother Pat (Michelle), father-in-law Rod, brother-in-law Craig (Kelly), sister-in-law Michele, along with many nieces and nephews. He left this Earth doing what he loved most. We know that he is watching down on all of us, at least from the rear view mirror of his bike. We couldn’t feel safer knowing that. We love you, Dad. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley at 1007 W. South Jordan Parkway, South Jordan, Utah anytime between 2:00-4:00 pm.
