“Big Mike”Michael King Sullivan Sr. Our beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, Brother and Friend, passed peacefully from this life on May 13, 2010.Michael was born on July 3, 1941 in Logan, Cache County, Utah to Horace Wendall Sullivan and Etta Butler Mayberry. Michael married the love of his life, Carol LaVon Atkinson on July 12, 1960 in Murray, Utah. Marriage later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. They were just 2 months shy of celebrating their 50th Wedding Anniversary.Big Mike was a commercial artist. He loved cars and motorcycles. He was a stamp collector and also loved poetry and music. He was an extremely intelligent and kind person who could put anyone at ease with his stories and humor. He was a great friend to everyone who knew him.He is survived by his loving wife, Carol; Sons, Michael King Sullivan Jr. (Denise) and Daniel James Sullivan; Daughter, Kathleen (Bruce) Pitts; Daughter-in-law, Becky Sullivan; Five grandchildren, Courtnee, Emily, Jacob, Sophia and Isaiah; Great-grandchildren, Sammie, Briona and Trace. His is also survived by his brother Wendall (Marian) Sullivan and his sister, Anne Mortensen.Preceded in death by his parents, half-brother Rex Mayberry, daughter-in-law Kathy Campbell and great-granddaughter Alexandria Dakota Nelson.We would like to thank all of Dad’s health care providers for their exceptional care and love.Funeral services 12:00 noon, Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at Holladay Stake Center, 4568 S Holladay Blvd., with viewings on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 S State, Murray, Utah and 11-11:45 a.m. at the church prior to the service. Interment Murray City Cemetery.
