Milton "Mick" Morris Wall Obituary (1934 - 2017)

11/2/1934 ~ 7/26/2017 Mick lived life at full speed, but he was reluctant to leave his family here. We know the reunion with his family beyond the veil was joyful. Mick was the 4th of 6 children born to Leona May Bartlett and Ronald Donald Wall. He was born in Ogden, UT, raised in Salt Lake City, and attended West High School. He lived in Murray, UT for the majority of his life. Mick retired from the US Army Reserve after 40 years of service. He loved serving his country and retired as a Sergeant Major (E-9), the highest rank as a Non-Commissioned officer. Mick’s employment revolved around printing and book building. He set type and did beautiful work creating books and magazines. His 52-year career in the printing industry saw many changes, from the Linotype hot lead machines where each character was formed from hot lead, to computers that eventually forced his retirement at 75 years old. Mick was a loving husband and father. He was adored by his kids and grand-kids. He loved to camp, fish, ski and rollerblade. He continued skiing and rollerblading until he was 75 years old. He loved attending his grand-kid's activities. His love of reading made him a lifelong learner. Mick held many callings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served the adults, but he especially loved working with the youth. We give special thanks to the staff at Rocky Mountain Hospice who cared tenderly for Mick during the last 8 months of his life. Mick’s greatest legacy is love, laughter, and making everyone he met feel valued. The world would be a better place if we followed in his footsteps. Mick is preceded in death by his parents, Ron and Leona; his brothers, Ronald, Ephraim, Jack, Levi; and his sister, Reta Fletcher. Mick is survived by his wife of 58 years, Carol Walton Wall; daughters, Patty Ward and Susan Weaver (Bruce); sons, Michael (Lori) and Matthew (Jen); his grandchildren: Missy, Bubba, Jesse, Adam, Olivia, Nicole, Beck, Austin, Kayleigh; and great-grandchildren: Kya, J.D., Jack, Mick, and one on the way; brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Kay Willardsen; and many nieces and nephews. A Viewing will be held Sunday, July 30, 2017, Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 S. State St., Murray, UT from 5:30 - 7:30 PM. Funeral Services will be held Monday, July 31st at 11:00 AM at the Little Cottonwood 8th Ward LDS Chapel, 6180 S. Glenoaks St., Murray, UT, with a viewing at the church 1 hour prior.
