Obituary for Nadia Lashmanova

Nadia Lashmanova
1952 – 2018

Nadia Lashmanova passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, after battling cancer for two years. Nadia was born in Kazakhstan, Soviet Union, on October 25, 1952 to Ol’ga and Alexander Dzubin. Nadia went to elementary and high school in Mirny, Siberia. She often told stories of camping, fishing and hunting with her father in the wilds of Eastern Russia. While there she got the idea to move to Moscow to attend Moscow University. She wasn’t accepted right away but persevered. This persistence has defined her life. Nadia was able to immigrate to the United States in 1993 and through much hardship and a lot of hard work created a life from scratch, which included re-establishing her master’s degrees and going to Law School. Nadia ended up spending most of her time in California, living by the Beach that she loved and pursuing adventures most of us only dream of doing. She was an avid scuba diver and wanted to share this experience with everyone, most importantly her two grandsons who now carry on her legacy in her favorite places of “warm water”. This journey from Siberia to California and her vigor for education have provided limitless opportunities for her descendants. She was proud of her children and grandchildren for all that they accomplished in this land of opportunity. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her and loved her. Nadia is survived by her two daughters Olya Van Patten (Michael Van Patten) and Natalia De Oliveira (Rodolfo De Oliveira) as well as her grandchildren, Katya, Tyler, Wesley Van Patten and three canine grand babies Eisley, Panda and Jack.

A Celebration of Nadia’s Life will be held on December 5, 2018 from 5-8:00 pm at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley 1007 W. South Jordan Pkwy. South Jordan, Utah
