Nick John Sharich, Sr. Obituary (1925 - 2017)

Nick J. Sharich, Sr. passed away on July 2, 2017 in Murray, Utah. He was born on February 5, 1925 in Murray to Joseph P. Sharich and Annie Magerus. Nick served in the US Navy aboard the USS Columbia during WWII. He retired as Captain of the Utah State Prison where he worked for 28 years and served on the Board of the UPCU for 47 years. He helped start the Murray Liberty Little League Baseball and served as a coach. He is survived by his sons: Tony, Mark, and Nick, Jr. (Laura); grandsons, Nick, Jr. II and Michael M.; and sister-in-law, Maxine Sharich. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie; daughter, Joann (Barry) Naus; and siblings: Wilma, George, Tony, John, and Joyce. The family would like to thank Bristol Hospice, especially his aide, Tamera, for her tender, loving care. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Vincent De Paul Parish, 1375 Spring Lane, Salt Lake City, Utah with a viewing prior from 10:30-11:00 A.M. A Rosary will be held on Monday, July 10 at 6:00 P.M. with a viewing from 6:30-8:00 P.M. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State Street, Murray. Interment at Murray City Cemetery, 5600 South Vine Street, Murray, Utah.
