Nina Garrett passed away November 28, 2009. Born May 22, 1918 in Blackfoot, Idaho to Luther George and Louise Stephensen Retallick. \n\nMarried her childhood sweetheart, Fred B. Garrett, September 12, 1940 in Salt Lake City, Utah.\n\nNina was born into the Great Depression. She lost her father at age six. She learned the value of hard work, thrift, love of family and compassion. She is truly one of God’s caregivers. She provided a loving and warm home for family and friends. She shared with others, enjoyed “giving” and loved to quilt. She was the best checker player in the family and loved being in her yard.\n\nWorked for the Murray School District school lunch program at Longview Elemetery for 18 years. Made many friends and loved the children.\n\nSurvived by sons: Jerry R. (Fran) Garrett, Dick F. (Sondra) Garrett; daughter: Shirlee Kay (Scott) Atkinson; sister: Cleo Carstensen; 9 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.\n\nPreceded in passing by parents; spouse of 55 years, Fred B. Garrett; sisters: Marvetta Davis, Julia Retallick (infant), Ardella Minerich; brothers, George Retallick and Harry Retallick.\n\nGraveside services 12:00 noon, Thursday, December 3, 2009 at Murray City Cemetery, 5600 South Vine Street, Murray, Utah.
