Orpha Inez Conway Farmer Obituary (1919 - 2008)

Orpha Inez Conway Farmer, 88, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2008 in her home in Midvale, UT. Orpha was born on November 21, 1919 in Pleasant Grove, Utah to John and Vida Fage Conway. She was the third of four children. She married Fred William Farmer on May 2, 1939 in Pleasant Gove, Utah. They were sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple in 1955. They recently celebrated their 69th anniversary. They had one child, Fred Conway Farmer. Together they resided in Utah and Daingerfield, TX. Orpha served as an officer in the Ladies Auxiliary Service Group for Hospital In The Pines - Lone Star, TX. She was certified as a home care nurse and was a Red Cross instructor. Orpha was an active member of the LDS church. She and Fred served the members of the Pittsburg, TX Branch in many positions. They also served together in the Texas Houston Mission, and as ordinance workers - Jordan River Temple. Every moment of each day was devoted to her family. Orpha loved being around her family and enjoyed life. She was very talented and loved doing ceramics, quilting, knitting, cooking and anything with her hands. Her home along with homes of friends and family are filled with her beautiful handy work that will be treasured forever. She is survived by son Fred C. (Sylvia), grandchildren; Cameron (Kristen), Ryan (Jenni), Lindsay (Kevin) Moore, Jami and 8 great grandchildren residing in the Salt Lake City area. Preceeded in death by her husband Fred W, grandson Chet, sisters Eva Marie Larsen, Bernadette Giacalone and brother John G. Conway. The family would like to express their appreciation to the Union Fort 7th Ward, Affinity Hospice, and her care giver, Leslie Beetem, for all the many hours spent caring for her in her time of need. Funeral Services will be held at the Union Fort 7th Ward, located at 6770 S. 500 E. Midvale, UT on October 28, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. Viewings held at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 S. State Murray from 6-8 p.m. on Monday October 27, 2008 and at 10:00 am at the church prior to the services. Interment- Provo City Cemetery.
