Orrian Kenneth Rich Obituary (1915 - 2007)

Orrian Kenneth Rich, our much loved father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away on Jan. 9, 2007 at nearly 92 years of age. Orrian was born on Feb. 2, 1915 in Bennion, Utah to Janie and Peter Rich. He was one of four sons in a family of four boys and two girls. Orrian graduated from Granite High School. He was married to Eunice Whitehead in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on March 10, 1938 by David O. McKay. Orrian worked for most of his career as a fireman at Hill Air Force Base, retiring as the Assistant Chief. He was a gentleman farmer in Cove Utah on a small spread he liked to call “The Ranch”. He was active in the LDS Church serving in many leadership positions including missionary work in St. George Utah. He was a temple worker in the St. George, Logan and Salt Lake Temples. Orrian is survived by his two sons, Kent and R. Dee, six grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. We will all miss his comfortable companionship and ever present sense of humor. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 19, 2007, 11:00 am at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley, 1007 W. South Jordan Parkway (10600 S.), where friends and family may call Thursday, January 18, 2007 form 6-8 pm and one hour prior to the service on Friday. Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery.
