Patrice Jane Rosales Obituary (1955 - 2012)

MURRAY – On Oct. 31, 2012, Patrice Jane Rosales rejoined her eternal love, Lupe, after fighting a courageous battle with brain cancer.Patty was born on Sept. 27, 1955 to Verne and Joane Grimsley in Salt Lake City. She attended West High School and worked in retail at Target for the last 16 years.She married her soul mate, Lupe, on Oct. 26, 1973 in Salt Lake City, and had three children and four grandchildren, who called her “Nana”. After her diagnosis, she fought for almost a year, against all odds, to see the birth of her first granddaughter and to watch her grandsons play football.Patty loved spending time with family and enjoyed going to the cabin in Wyoming with good friends, Dave and Carol Yates. She was selfless; always putting family and friends first, and adored the time she spent with her grandchildren.She is survived by two sons: Micheal (Jamie) Rosales and Christopher Rosales, daughter: Juanita (Benjamin) Babcock and by her Parents Verne and Joane Grimsley. Also survived by four beautiful grandchildren: Jordan, Austin, Alex and Breann, and by siblings: Pamela (William) Kenney, Daniel (Cathy) Grimsley, Charles (Denise) Grimsley, Jon Grimsley, and Mary Fondaco.Preceded in death by husband Guadalupe Rosales, who was waiting patiently for her to rejoin his true love.Memorial services will be held at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary in Murray at 4760 South State Street. The viewing will be on Monday, November 5th from 6-8 pm and funeral services will be Tuesday, November 6th at 11 am, with a viewing one hour before the service, followed by an interment at West Jordan City Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations on her behalf to support brain cancer research at www.walktoendbraintumors.org.
