Perry Murphy Obituary (1936 - 2009)

In Loving Memory Perry “Don” Murphy passed away Monday morning at the age of 72. Born to Perry Jon and Angeline Murphy on September 21, 1936, in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was a student of Irving High School, and was a Veteran Paratrooper of the 82nd & 101st Airborne in Germany. He married Janet Laree May in March 1955, and proudly fathered four children. Don was an experienced truck driver—seasoned in all aspects. As a proud member of the Good Sam RV Club, and being a self-proclaimed Snowbird, he spent his retired years traveling the Southwest in his beloved motor home. Don enjoyed spending his time in the outdoors traveling, boating, fishing and duck hunting—all while living his life on a permanent camping trip. Entertained by his activities, Don’s greatest joy was spending time with, and spoiling his grandchildren. Don is survived by his children: Perry, Melvin, and Jana (Rodney); grandchildren: Taylor (Hannah), Jordan, and Jarren; great-granddaughter, Bralynne; extended family: Jenifer (Sam), Jon Thomas, Karlie, and Jesse; brothers: Jim (Marlene), Richard (Kay), and Mike (Terri). Preceded in death by parents: Perry Jon & Angeline Murphy; son, Jeremiah Murphy; and brother, Robert Murphy. Funeral Services will be held at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 S. State St., Murray, Utah at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 31, 2009, with a viewing one hour prior to services. Interment at Elysian Burial Gardens, 1075 E 4580 S, Salt Lake City, Utah, will follow services. The family would like to thank Jenkins-Soffe, and Elysian Burial Gardens for their services.
