Presley Arthur DuVall Obituary (1915 - 2011)

“You were always there for us”Presley Arthur DuVall, 95, passed away peacefully from natural causes on April 13, 2011. He was born May 30, 1915 in Little Bear, Wyoming to Francis Leroy and Elsie Mae Jones DuVall. Married Marie Black Laws on December 25, 1946 in Blanding, Utah. Sealed to Evelyn Mae Swofford in the Salt Lake Temple on June 28, 1974.Presley was a cowboy who loved the Wyoming prairie and loved working on his ranch. He was a Mason for over 50 years and was a past Grand-Master. He moved to Salt Lake in 1950 and learned to weld so he could support his family. He worked for Western Steel Company until he retired. Presley was a convert to the LDS Church and loved working in the Salt Lake Temple where he served as a veil worker for 17 years. He served as ward financial clerk for 22 years. He loved his family. He enjoyed showing off by naming all of his descendents and their birthdays. He knew many cowboy poems that he could recite by heart. Presley enjoyed working in his yard and taking care of his beautiful roses.He is survived by his wife Evelyn, his children Kenneth (Mary) DuVall, Rita DuVall, Theda Timmins, Vicky Dyson, Joyce (Norm) Johnson, Bill (Janae) Broyles, Elaine (DelRay) Andersen, Paul Broyles and Laurie Camp, daughter-in-law Linda Laws, 36 grandchildren, 104 great-grandchildren and 14 great, great-grandchildren, sisters Nellie Dryden and Dorothy Berry. Preceded in death by his parents, his wife Marie, 2 sons, Dwight Laws and Doyle Camp, 2 sons-in-law, Bill Timmins and Van Dyson, 2 great-grandchildren, Emma Laws and Benjamin DuVall, three brothers and two sisters.Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, April 16, 2011 at the South Salt Lake Stake Center, 2280 South 300 East. Friends may call Friday, 6-8 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State Street, and Saturday 12:30-1:45 p.m. at the church.
