Ray Mandet Obituary (1934 - 2009)

(Raymond Lee Johnson) Ray Mandet, age 74, passed away Feb. 4, 2009 in South Jordan, Utah. He was born May 15, 1934 to Lincoln and Ruby Covert Johnson. In 1947 he took the last name of his Step Father Carl Mandet. In 1954 he married our Mother and the love of his life Arden Leavitt, they were married for 38 years prior to her passing in 1990. He worked for Interstate Brick and Kennecott Copper for many years. As a young man he built and raced stock cars. He enjoyed buying, selling cars and real estate. He loved camping trips and taking family vacations. Survived by four daughters, Gloria (Rick) Montrose, Linda Mandet, Sheri (Jack) Carlton, Cathy (Scott) Fullmer, his sister Carol Taylor and brother Carl Mandet (North Carolina)13 grandchildren & 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his Wife, Mother, Father, Step Father, and 1 great grandson. Funeral services will be held at noon on Monday, Feb. 9th at Jenkins-Soffe 1007 W. South Jordan Pkwy. (10600 So.) Friends may call from 10:30 to 11:45 am prior to the services. Interment will be at Mountain View Memorial Estates.
