Raymond Alden Egelund Obituary (1955 - 2010)

Ray Egelund age 55, beloved husband, father, brother, left this life to go join his family in heaven on Sunday, March 21, 2010 due to a sudden heart attack. Ray was born the first of three children in Salt Lake City on January 24, 1955 to Stanley and Rosena McLean Egelund. He attended Cyprus High School. After graduation he worked for Kennecott Copper. He met and married his soul mate and best friend, Steffany Zenger in 1976 and together they have raised their son Sean. Ray then attended school at the Salt Lake Community College earning an Applied Science degree as an Electronic technician. Since receiving his degree in 1988 he has worked for the Department of Transportation in the office of the FAA. Ray had many hobbies over the years, but they all were related to his one love, electronics. He thoroughly enjoyed getting some new piece of equipment and setting it up or fixing a friend’s computer. He was an avid reader and he also loved to travel, with recent vacations to Hawaii and Alaska. Ray will be deeply missed by us; his family and co-workers. Ray is survived by his wife Steffany and son Sean, his sister in law Roxanne Zenger, his sisters Cheryl (Lane) Johnson along with Darlene (John) and nephew Anthony, niece Davina. Ray was preceded in death by his father and mother Stanley and Rosena Egelund. In honoring Ray’s wishes his body was donated to the U of U anatomical gift department. South Jordan Pkwy (10600 S) with a visitation for family and friends from 11:00 – 11:45 am.
