Richard John Yano Obituary (1943 - 2014)

Richard passed away in his home of liver cancer. He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah to Pete and Vera Bennett Yano. Richard was the owner and operator of Sue-Rich Lanes. Bowling was his life! He made many friends with his bowlers, and he cared about each and every one. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Myke Thoreson Yano; daughter, Kori (Troy) Faurot; sons, John (Tiffany) Yano and Dustin (Alicia) Yano; 12 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; sister, Susanne Yano and her two kids; his mother and father-in-law, Hal and Willie Thoreson. Richard was preceded in death by his parents; and his special aunt, Alice Bennett. At Richard's request, he will be cremated. He has also requested that the dress for his service be casual, as he was most comfortable in his "bowling attire." Memorial Services will be Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 S. State Street. Inurnment will then follow at Murray City Cemetery. Then from 1:00-3:30 p.m., Richard's friends and family will get together for Beer-N-Eats at Sue-Rich Lane —his home away from home. Funeral Home: Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary-Murray 4760 So.
