Saint George, UT
On April 29th, 2009, we lost our awesome brother, uncle and friend as a result of heart and diabetes related complications.
Richard L. Boyce (Dick) was born July 31, 1933 to Perry and LaFern Boyce. He grew up in Butler and graduated from Jordan High School. Richard always had many pets and was true animal lover. He enjoyed raising and working with his race horses. He also loved gardening and grew great vegetables and beautiful flowers.
Richard was a partner in Boyce Bros. Fur Farm which eventually moved from Butler to Morgan. He also worked at Castle Metals where he had many friends and clients. He moved to St. George in 2004 where he spent his remaining years.
He is survived by his siblings: Leah Hilton, Charlie (Dawn) Boyce, Marilyn (Doug) Ovard, Lynne (Fred) Cutler; special and devoted care giver Lee Young and his family. Also many nieces and nephews to whom he was #1 Uncle, as well as many good friends.
Preceded in death by parents; dear friends, Ralph and Rose Hoover and sister-in-law Shirley.
Many thanks to the medical professionals who helped Richard, especially Pam in dialysis. Mostly thanks to Lee for the endless hours of care and the hundreds of miles driven on the afternoon rides. Richard was cremated. A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 16, 2009 at 11 a.m., at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State Street, where friends may call from 10-11 a.m. Interment will be in the Murray City Cemetery.
He will be missed!
