RuthAnn McOmie Obituary (1949 - 2017)

On September 26, 2017, our loving wife, mom, grandma, great-grandma, sister, aunt and friend RuthAnn McOmie passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 3, 1949 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Preston and Virginia Miller. She married Donald McOmie on May 20, 1969 in the Salt Lake Temple. They had 5 children: Kim Stojack (Jim), Jennifer Butterfield (Rick), Brad McOmie (Michelle), Brian McOmie, and Melissa Webb (Jason). She dearly loved her 5 children, 17 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren with twins on the way. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother-in-law Ron, and sister Nancy. She is survived by many who love her including siblings Judy (Ron), Carolyn, and Pres (Sandy). RuthAnn was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many positions but especially loved working with the youth. She made a huge impact in the lives of many. She was very compassionate and never went anywhere without serving others. Her family was her pride and joy. She was proud of their successes. She absolutely LOVED to travel anywhere. She loved the sun, flowers, music and life itself. She had a love for everyone and you knew it right away. Our home was always open for anyone. Those that knew her loved her. She will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 29, 2017 at 12:00 noon at the Union 6th Ward, 1433 East Old Mission Road, Sandy, Utah. Viewings will be held Thursday, September 28, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 pm at the Union 6th Ward and on Friday from 10:30-11:30 am prior to the service.
