Sandra Williams Nelson

1953 ~ 2017

Sandra Williams Nelson, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend passed away February 12, 2017. She fought heart disease for many years with great courage, and leaves behind a legacy of love and strength that inspired all who knew her.

Sandie grew up in the Sugar House area of Salt Lake City, and graduated from South High, where she was an accomplished violinist. She loved being with her family and enjoyed trips to the family cabin, Disney Parks, Yellowstone, Hawaii, San Antonio, and New Orleans, among many others. She loved crafting and was skilled at anything she tried, particularly ceramics, baking, and crocheting.

She is survived by Thomas, her husband of 44 years; their sons, Joshua (Stacie), Nathan (Amy), and Jacob (Valerie); and her sister, Jill (Gordon). Sandie and Tom have four grandchildren: Lexie, Jaden, Jorja, and Tanner. She was preceded in death by her parents (Stephen and Fern) and her step-father (Dennis).

A public viewing will be held on Friday, February 17, 2017 from 6 PM to 8 PM and Saturday, February 18th from 10 to 10:45 AM at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State Street, Murray, Utah. Funeral services follow the Saturday public viewing at 11 AM at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary. She will be laid to rest at Elysian Burial Gardens in Millcreek, Utah.
