Scott Riley Norton Obituary (1957 - 2014)

Scott Riley Norton, 57, passed away on September 9, 2014 after a long struggle from the effects of a brain aneurysm. He was born August 28, 1957 in Salt Lake City to Riley and Dorothy Olsen Norton. Scott served a full-time mission for the LDS Church in Milan, Italy. He graduated from the U of U in Business Management. He married Jan Pedersen on August 21, 1980 and they raised their family in Provo, Pleasant Grove and Riverton, UT and also Parker, CO. He worked with copiers and data storage technology and excelled in sales and building relationships. He was working as the Director of Sales for Digitech Systems in Denver, Colorado when he suffered his brain aneurysm in 2006. Scott had a passion for discussing and working on cars. He loved camping and fishing and was an electronics enthusiast. Although never very successful, he enjoyed hunting as well. His family was everything to him. He is survived by his wife, Jan; son, Brandon (Aubrey); daughter, Jessa (Brett) Smith; son, Chase; daughter, Kaitlyn; and his two precious granddaughters, Olivia and Clara. He is also survived by his father, Riley (Linda); and his brother, Brent (Lori). He is preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy. We want to thank Tradition Assisted Living in West Valley City for the love and care they gave Scott in his last months. The funeral services will be held Saturday, September 13th at the Twin Peaks LDS Ward Building, 5235 Wesley Road, Murray, UT at 11:00 am, where family and friends are invited to pay respects from 10:00-10:45 am.
