Shannon M. Larson Obituary (1959 - 2017)

On July 4th, 2017 in Salt Lake City, UT, surrounded by her children and grandchildren, Shannon peacefully passed after a long bout with cancer. Born in Branson “Bud” and Pauline (Gleason) Lowman on April 22nd, 1959 in El Paso, TX, she moved with her family cross country several times. After attending Saverna Park HS while living in Arnold, MD, she made her way back west. In the summer of ’79 she found love on the dance floor in Las Vegas. After a few more dances, Harold R. Larson and Shannon married July 19th, 1980 in the LDS Temple in St. George, UT and soon settled down to spend the next 37 years on the beach in San Diego, CA. Always a formidably creative and generous force, she planned parties innumerable, designed and sewed wedding and prom dresses (and to the chagrin, her children’s clothes), quilted with passion and selflessness, and gave of her time and talents endlessly to her church, community, and family. As a lifelong, faithful member of the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints she humbly and diligently served for many years. Tenaciously charismatic, Shannon’s kind humor, vibrant energy, and monolithic faith has brought boundless comfort and joy that will be emulated and storied by the many lives she’s blessed. She is survived by her steadfast husband, Harold; her children and their partners, Kendyll & Bradley, Branson & Shanna, Dane & Eliot, Chad & Michelle, and Blake and Caitlin; the great loves of her life, her eight grandchildren; her parents Bud & Pauline; siblings and their spouses Branson & Kim, Tiff & Bryce, and Breen & Tammy. Shannon will be interred at City Cemetery in Park City, UT. A memorial service will follow at 1:00 pm on Saturday, July 15th, 2017 at the LDS Stake Center at 1590 East H Street, Chula Vista, CA 91913.
