Obituary for Sherry Ann Dayley Lindquist

Beloved wife, sister, mother, grandmother, passed peacefully, surrounded by the love and support of family on Friday, October 26, 2018 in St. George, Utah at the age of 71. Sherry was born in Burley, Idaho on January 11, 1947 to her loving parents, Ivan and Thora Dayley. She moved to Salt Lake City, Utah in her early 20’s, where she met her husband of 42 years. Many years of her life were spent raising her family and creating memories with her grandchildren. She spent the last 2 years of her life in St. George, Utah.
Grandma, or Nana Sherry, was truly the best. She was simply amazing at creating anything handmade: quilts, crafts, cooking, and canning just to name a few. Always so thoughtful with cards and gifts, most of them handmade. Everything she made was from her heart, made for others, never wanting anything in return. Her grandchildren will always remember the tea parties, making hand-decorated cookies, and all of the thoughtful activities she would organize for them. A typical weekend would begin with watching her grandchildren play soccer, followed by caring for her beautiful flowers and working in the immaculate vegetable garden that she and her husband loved so much. On Sunday she attended church services at the LDS Wells Ward and always invited her family over for homemade Sunday dinner. Having her family together was her favorite thing, and she would have loved nothing more than having that continue in her memory. She always ensued the presence of love and empathy in every way. She warmly welcomed everyone that was brought into her family. Sherry was kind, brave, supportive, loving, and her family is so blessed because of her. Her family all love her more that words can describe and will miss her dearly.
Sherry was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Lee Lindquist; her brothers: Lowell Dayley (Penny), Dennis Dayley (Nola), and Grant Dayley (Linda); her children: Ron Lindquist (Emily), Kristin Fisher (KC), Ryan Lindquist (Tanelle), and Brandon Lindquist (Amie); and 9 grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 2, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with a viewing preceding the service from 9:30-10:45 a.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State Street, Murray. Interment at Murray City Cemetery, 5600 South Vine Street, Murray.
