Steven David Ellis Obituary (1963 - 2016)

May 11, 1963 ~ May 11, 2016 Steven David Ellis, 53, of Salt Lake City, passed away peacefully in his home on May 11, 2016. He was welcomed into the arms of his loving mother after losing his battle with addiction. Steve, who was knowledgeable, kind-hearted and warm-spirited was known for his playfulness and great sense of humor. A man of many talents, he could repair anything that was put in front of him and an incredible musician in both voice and piano. He grew up in the family R.V. business where he excelled in every aspect of the industry. He also served an LDS mission in Cleveland, Ohio. Upon receiving his degree from Westminster College he followed his dreams and became an accomplished commercial airline pilot. For 23 years he flew over land and sea, all across the world for companies such as Zantop, American Trans Air, and AtlasJet. Steve is survived by: his father, David Ellis; his brother, Doug (Ruth); his sisters, Cheryl (Dewey), Michelle (Leda), Diane (Steve), Denise (Steve); his children, Kylie (Ryan), Trey (Rachelle), Caitlin, Brooke; his grandchildren, Naomi, Oliver, Thea; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Ellis and his sister, Barbara Ellis. A viewing will be held Sunday, May 15, 2016 at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State Street, Murray, UT 84107, from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday, May 16, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the LDS Church on 6350 Rodeo Lane, Salt Lake City, Utah 84121, with a viewing one hour prior.
