Sunny Carroll Obituary (1945 - 2020)

View Funeral Webcast Beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and lifelong friend passed away peacefully in her home on December 11th.Sunny was surrounded by family and music in her last moments as she transitioned from this life. Born Isabelle Faye Carroll, on June 3, 1945 in SLC, UT, Sunny was the first child to James Orville Carroll and Isabelle Faye Hales Carroll. She is preceded in death by her parents James & Isabelle Faye, siblings Barry, Chrysanne & Victoria Carroll as well as other extended loved family members. Sunny grew up in Murray with her siblings Chrysanne, Barry, David, & Jerri. Graduating from Granger High School in 1963. She married her best friend Stephen Leland Madsen on December 2, 1972 and they spent many years of family and friendship together. They had 2 beautiful children Marjorie and Michael Madsen. She also had 2 wonderful grandchildren, Daun & Aspen, whom she loved and praised endlessly. Sunny’s name was very representative of her being. She was a very social person and was always found moving from place to place sharing her knowledge, her radiant smile, and beautiful stories. She was definitely the family historian. Sunny loved many things; working and volunteering at schools, Acting and Theatre, Goddess and Worship, and her Community. Sunny’s passion was teaching and she was extremely talented at it. She spent many hours of her life learning, and teaching others in all things big and small. We know sharing history, teaching and knowledge were connections going deep in her soul and she shared her love for everyone through these. Her family would like to extend their thanks for the compassion of the doctors, nurses and staff at Symbii Hospice Services. Also, a very special thanks to nurses Amber Jones and Jon Boss whom were here to share so much support and knowledge in the time of need. As well as many members from various other communities that she donated her time to and enjoyed in this life. She leaves behind a huge family, both bio family and chosen family, grieving her passing but anchored by her legacy and memories. To live your life to the fullest no matter your circumstances is admirable, but to do this while always sharing your knowledge with others is nothing less than Sunny. Sunny would like you all to know that her business here is done and she is on to another wonderous adventure, so celebrating her life is in order. Family viewing will be held at 3:00 pm Monday Dec. 21, one hour prior to services. Services will be held Monday, December 21, 2020 from 4:00 to 5:00 pm at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State St. Murray, Utah. Donations to help her family with expenses are being accepted in lieu of flowers. A memoriam book is being created.
