Teri Ann Wells Timpson Obituary (1961 - 2018)

Our loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend passed away on December 13, 2018 after a valiant battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her family. Teri Ann Wells Timpson was born on July 29, 1961, in Cedar City, Utah. She is the daughter of Delwin Samuel and Renee Jones Wells. She married Richard Jay Timpson, April 23, 1982, in the Salt Lake Temple. They were blessed with two beautiful children, Brittany Ann and Bryce Richard Timpson, whom she loved dearly. Teri loved life! She was brave, bold, and courageous. She was not afraid of change or a good challenge. Richard often referred to this as, “Life with Teri.” She worked hard to create a nurturing home for her family. Her family meant everything to her. Music helped to lift her soul and she enjoyed singing in choirs, playing the piano, and listening to beautiful selections. Teri had a teacher’s heart. She attended Brigham Young University and graduated with undergraduate and graduate degrees in Elementary Education and Educational Leadership. She worked as an elementary teacher, district specialist, elementary and middle school principal, and area administrator in Utah and Nevada. She will be remembered as a great champion for young people! Teri was an avid learner and could often be found reading and preparing for upcoming assignments. She opened her heart to many and loved to serve and lift those around her. Teri was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many capacities. She had a valiant testimony and deep abiding love for our Savior. She was a woman of faith. Teri had a special way of ministering and touching the lives of others. She will be greatly missed. Teri leaves behind her husband, Richard, and their two children Brittany and Bryce, her mother, Renee Wells, her siblings Craig (Debbie) Wells, Paula (Terry) Smith, Sidney Williams, Valerie (Mark) McDougal, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father, Delwin Wells, brother, Scott Wells, brother-in-law, Al Williams, mother-in-law, Anna Belle Timpson, and grandparents. Viewings will be held on Monday, December 17th from 6:00-8:00 pm at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley, 1007 W. South Jordan Parkway (10600 So.), South Jordan, and on Tuesday at the church prior to services from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Herriman City Cemetery. We would like to express our sincere appreciation to Dr. William Nibley, Dr. Rayma Thota, and our palliative care and hospice team who provided loving care throughout Teri’s cancer journey.
