William "Ray" Raymond Young Obituary (1933 - 2008)

William Raymond Young passed away on Monday evening, June 9, 2008 following his wife Gayle Bringhurst Young in death. Gayle died on Monday June 25, 2007. Both were residents of South Jordan, Ut. and long time residents of North Edwards, Calif. Born July 19, 1933 in French Camp Calif. to Arbor May Gillespie and William Melton Young. Ray worked for NASA as a Flight Test Engineer on both the YF12 and the 747 that carried the space shuttle. He was also a retired Colonel in the US Air Force. He was a Member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was currently serving a Family History Mission. Survived by two sisters, Lorraine Johnson and Carol Young; two daughters, Jenifer (Scott) Pusey and Andrea (Ted) Doederlein; three granddaughters, four grandsons and one great granddaughter. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 14 at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 1007 W. South Jordan Parkway (10600 So.) A viewing will be held on Friday, June 13 from 6 – 8 pm and Saturday from 10-10:45 am prior to services. Entombment will follow in Wasatch Lawn Cemetery.
