William Thompson

Our beloved father, grandfather, brother and uncle left us on March 14, 2010 at his home surrounded by family.

Born August 24, 1925 in Clarkston, Utah to Newell Rendall & Amy Heggie Griffiths. Married Violet Joy Richards in 1951 in Malad, Idaho, later solemnized in the Manti Temple. Member of the LDS church where he served as ward clerk for 25 years. Worked for Union Pacific Railroad for 40 years. He loved the outdoors. Whatever needed to be done, he took care of it. He never stopped giving.

Survived by children: Will (Sarah), Lana (Gary), Laurie, Sister-in-law Lana Richards, grandchildren: Joshuah (Danielle), Michael, Deanna, Alexis, Kyra and Kolby, brothers: Jack, Vernal Wyn, Collins, and Jesse, sisters, Jeannine Hendricks, Lola Larsen, Lemoyne Hobbs & Kathy Jones, as well as many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by: parents, wife, brothers Dennis & Norman and sister Joan.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 17th at 11:00 am at the East Midvale 5th Ward chapel located at 240 East 7570 South. Viewing will be Tuesday March 16th from 6:00-8:00 pm at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley 1007 W. South Jordan Pkwy. (10600 S0) and one hour prior to the funeral Wednesday at the church. Interment 3:00 pm Clarkston Cemetery.
