Afton Levorsen Padjen, our beloved and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, step-grandmother, great-grandmother and friend passed away peacefully at our home (Van & Mai) July 31, 2008.\n\nAfton was born to Amund R.C. Levorsen and Viola May Nokes in Magna, Utah on February 22, 1924. She graduated from Granite High School in 1941. She later married her lifelong husband, John N. Padjen, on December 14, 1946; he preceded her in death.\n\nAfton is survived by her three sons, Van J. Padjen, Ph.D. (Mai), Guy V. Padjen (SueLyn), Robert P. Padjen, Esq; two grandchildren, Wendy Torres-Burns (Tom) and Kristoffer Padjen, M.D.; two step-grandchildren, Tammy White (Andrew) and Carolyn White (Benjamin Minson); and great-granddaughter, Aubree Torres. Afton is also survived by her three sisters, Marjorie Rigby (Tom) and their nine children, Faye Marsden (Hall) and their five children, Joan Griffiths (Fred) and their seven children; and her brother, Paul Levorsen (Esther) and their four children.\n\nMother was later sealed to her loving husband, John, of 58 years in the LDS Temple, SLC, Utah.\n\nAfton found great joy in her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed running the household, reading, and knitting.\n\nA Private Graveside Service for family and relatives will be held on Tuesday, August 5, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Murray City Cemetery, 5600 S. Vine Street. Friends and family are invited to her visitation on Tuesday from 10:00-10:45 a.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 S. State Street.
