Arthur Earl Davies passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 2, 2012. He was born August 15, 1921 to Morgan Joseph and Lillian Henline Davies. Married his sweetheart, Dorothy Norr on May 5, 1942.\n\nHe served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during WWII. His children fondly remember the time he spent with them camping, kayaking and hiking. They also remember the wonderful things he cooked like chili and waffles—and especially his cookies. He spent years caring for our Mom when she could no longer fix dinner.\n\nHe was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served two LDS missions with his wife. He helped build the Samoan and Tongan Temples and worked on renovation of the Salt Lake Temple. \n\nEarl was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be dearly missed. \n\nHe is survived by his wife, Dorothy Norr Davies; children, Rosanne Brown, Lillian (Blaine) Turner, Allen Earl Davies, Dianne (Mick) Breitling, Paul (Julie) Davies, Marilyn Madsen, Maureen Davies, and Janice Shaw; 31 grandchildren; 75 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild. Preceded in death by daughter, Shirley Davies Wall and 4 grandchildren.\n\nFuneral services will be Saturday, January 7, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State Street. Viewings will be at the mortuary Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday from 10-10:45 a.m. Interment: Murray City Cemetery.
