After a courageous battle with lung cancer, Barbara Helen Leonhardt was called home to our Heavenly Father on July 15, 2022 at the age of 77. She was born May 11, 1945 to Erich and Helen Leonhardt in Salt Lake City Utah. She graduated from Granite High School in 1963. Barbara worked at Cummins International Diesel for 30 years before retiring. She served her community and church in many capacities ranging from a stake missionary to an activity days leader, and greatly enjoyed her time serving as a temple worker in the Jordan River Temple baptistry. Barbara also served on the Board of the Murray Senior Center. She was well known for her crafting and custom cards that she made by hand and shared with those she loved. She loved painting and her works of art will be treasured keepsakes enjoyed by her loved ones. Barbara was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed the flowers in her garden. Her favorite flowers were her peonies, iris, sunflowers, and daisies. Barbara enjoyed watching mystery movies. Her greatest joys were her nieces and nephews and their many children. They loved spending time playing board games with her and she always enjoyed supporting them in their sports, school, and church activities. Her favorite dessert was vanilla ice cream with strawberries which was the last treat she requested prior to passing away. She is survived by her siblings David (Mary) Leonhardt, Donald (Sherie) Leonhardt and Diana (Gary) Bowles. Barbara will be greatly missed and her happy energy will be fondly remembered by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.\n\nFuneral services will be held Friday, July 22, 2022 at 11:00 am at the LDS Chapel at 495 East 5600 South.
